Ignacio Allende
(1769-1811) The military
failures of the initiators of the War of Independence led to
differences
between Hidalgo Allende and other leaders but none of them demerits the
role of
insurgent leaders. Notably at the time of his capture in Acatita of
Bajan
Allende refused and once taken he faced the process with dignity and
without compromising
anyone in their statements. He was sentenced to death and executed in
June
1811. Allende
represents rare patriotism and delivers the first leaders in the cause
of
national independence. Creole military
since the early nineteenth century sympathized with the independence
aspirations of Americans which led him to participate in the
conspiracies of
Valladolid and Dolores in favor of independence. Along with Hill was
one of the
principal leaders and initiators of the independence movement. As
Captain-General
of the rebels Allende had an outstanding participation in the events
that
occurred arms in the center of New Spain between September 1810 and
March 1811.
Also tried on several occasions - albeit unsuccessfully - to organize
and
impose order among the insurgent forces.
