Welcome into the World Of Bi-, Tri- and Tetra-metallics. I hope you enjoy reading this week's issue of the WBCC Newsmail.

1. WBCC at the Open Day of the Royal Dutch Mint...by Martin Peeters, WBCC Focal Point
Today Frans Dubois and myself will be with an own WBCC booth at the Open Day of the Royal Dutch Mint in the city Utrecht, The Netherlands.
For the first time at the Open Day there will be a guest of honor: Monnaie de Paris, the French Mint. For this time there will be also a special Euro set (1000 sets) .
Further sets available are The Mintmaster Euro set (3000 sets) and Day Of the Mint Euro set (2010 sets).

3. Bi-metallic Error 500 Lire 1982 from Italy....by Frans Woons, Canada
Here an image of a Bi-metallic 500 Lire 1982 from Italy struck with a cracked die. See the curved line in the bottom half of this coin; from one edge to the other.

A Bi-metallic prize will be awarded for the correct answer. If more than one member gets the correct answer, a random drawing will be conducted to select a winner.  The Quiz Game #720 prize winner is Allen Kwon, WBCC member #472. There were 10 players.
 

11. WBCC Super Quiz #16...by Jack Hepler, USA

When the Euro coins were launched in 2002, optional edge lettering was authorized. Most countries incorporated a series of designs for the edges including stars, country names, ornaments or value. Which country created Bi-metallic edge designs that were NOT country name, ornaments, value or stars? What was the inscription on the Bi-metallic 2 Euro of that country and what does it say in English?

Answer to WBCC Super Quiz #15
The March Super Quiz was about Switzerland's three beautiful Bi-metallic 10 Francs coins that featured three of the highest mountains in the Alps. The mountains so honored were the Matterhorn Cervin, Jungfrau, and Piz Bernina. The May question is about the location. Which mountain is the most easterly and which is the most westerly of the three mountains?

The correct answers are: The most easterly mountain is Piz Bernina (E9º54' 28").  The most westerly mountain is Matterhorn Cervin (E7º 39' 23") The May Super Quiz winner will be announced next week.
