Vicente Guerrero, tixtleño of humble birth, was incorporated in November 1810 to the forces of the brothers who followed the general Galeana Morelos. During the War of Independence, Guerrero participated prominently in various feats of arms as in the battle of Izucar and making of Oaxaca, on its merits, Morelos revolt entrusted southern Puebla and thanks for the manufacture of gunpowder, the casting of artillery and, above all, the growth of their troops, Guerrero scored high-profile victories in the region. In the fall of the Empire, Guerrero was alternate member of the Triumvirate that followed, and the lodge Yorkin, party of progress and defender of federalism. In 1829, Guerrero became president of the Republic with little success and two years later was killed by treachery.
