An invitation and a question..............Jim Kindrake, Canada The Edmonton Numismatic Association is hosting the 1998 Canadian Numismatic Association Annual Convention and Bourse. On behalf of the Association we invite all Bi-metallic collectors to attend in July. I will mail you a bit more information but if anyone is interested please e-mail either myself or Mike Schnieder or Dan Gosling (you can find their e-mail addresses on the WBCC weekly Newsmail) for details. We can assist with finding reasonable accommodation etc. The second request I have is to ask if you or anyone else in the Club would be able to put me in touch with companies who will strike private Bi-metallic tokens. The Association hosting the Convention usually issues souvenir tokens, wooden tokens, paper script, etc. but I've suggested we consider a Bi-metallic token to commemorate the event and I have been asked to investigate the cost, etc. Can you or anyone else in the Club help me find this information? Any help would be appreciated. 5. Dutch Bi-metallic MTT......By Martin Peeters, Netherlands As mentioned in WBCC Newsmail 57, item 2, the Dutch MTT, "De Zaanse Roebel" (The Zaanse Rouble). Bi-metallic Good For Token...By Louis Crawford, Canada Gammill Lumber Company Logging Camps -Good For One Meal Token- Gammill Lumber Company was based in Pelahatchie, Mississippi and was in business from 1913 to 1920. As the company cut timber deeper into the forest, they extended a railroad line built to haul the cut logs to the sawmill. At the end of this line they had logging camps. Apparently some of the workers were provided meals as a sort of fringe benefit. The token is in the style of the Childs & Company Bi-metallic tokens (see Schenkman's book 'Bimetallic Trade Tokens of the United States') and the description is: 'Gamhill Lumber Co. Logging Camps' on one side 'Good for one meal not transferable Pat. Appld. For' on the other, it is 24 millimeters in diameter. 9. An encased coin..........By Jean Verleg, Netherlands Last sunday I visited a coinfaire of the coincollectorsclub the City Tilburg, Netherlands.
