WBCC Helpdesk Homepage...........by Larry Friemel, USA The WBCC HELPDESK Homepage: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Estates/9540/bmhome.html has been updated. Here you find many things about Bi-metallics from early to present times. If you have a question about Bi-metallics maybe the "WBCC HELPDESK Homepage", will provide the answer. If not, you can always E-mail me at: lfriemel@internetconnect.net 4. Bi-metallic from Mozambique........by Wolfgang Schuster, Austria I am happy to inform of probably the first Bi-metallic issue of Mozambique. Futher details unknown. 5. Bi-metallic from Mexico...........by Luis Wulschner, Mexico In two weeks, the Numismatic Society of Mexico will celebrate its 29th International Numismatic Convention. On this occasion and for the first time a big Bi-metallic medal will be struck. This piece has a 48 mm. diameter ring and a 23 mm. diameter center. The ring is made out of silver (approx. 1.5 ag .999) and the center of copper. This piece commemorates the Centennary of the 1st emission of the first monogram cent 1899 (KM-394.1). Actually, this coin is quite scarce and seeken by a lot of collectors. Only 52 medals will be struck (two for the Society's museum and 50 for the membership). As it is a very limited edition, only one piece will be sold per member, and only for the members that attend the 1st day of the show. Obviously, they will sell in an instant, and this fact makes the resale very expensive. I don't know now the exact price of sale but it will be around $50.00 U.S.; when I have the piece with me or a photograph I will send it to Rod Sell so it can appear on the next WBCC Homepage. By the way, I designed this medal. 6. Bi-metallic Dutch Medal..........by Martin Peeters, Netherlands The Dutch Mint will issue this year a Mint Sets with a Bi-metallic in it. The Mint set will only be availble at the 'Holland Coin Fair 1999' held on February 26, 27 and 28 in the Dutch city The Hague. The Bi-metallic Medal depicts the former Dutch King Willem III and only 3.500 sets will be made. There are only 2 sets available for each visitor of the Coin Fair, so these sets are very difficult to get after the show. Price each set is 30 Dutch Guilders. 7. Bi-metallic Casino Token..........by Wolfgang Schuster, Austria I have a Bi-metallic Casino Token of the Polana Casino in Maputo in front of me. If you want to take a picture please wait a few days it will be soon in the WBCC Homepage. Obverse: Polana Casino + logo Reverse: palm tree 8. Bi-metallic Lithuania 2 and 5 Litai 1999....by Frans Dubois, Netherlands From Lithuania I received the following message about the 2 and 5 Litai 1999. It is for sure that there is no mintage of these coins dated 1999. First of all, these coins are very rare till now. Secondly, the National Mint never hurries with the dates so at the moment there are only the Bi-metallic 2 and 5 Litai 1998 availlable. 9.
