4th August 2021 Frans Woons - Canada
Royal Canadian Mint R & D Test Tokens

The set consists of six different tokens.  All tokens measure 25.8 mm in diameter.  Mintage: 10,000 sets.

The tokens 1, 2, and 3 consist each of three parts:

·       a nickel-plated steel outer ring

·       a polymer ‘separator’

·       an insert plated on one side with a metal and plated on the other side with a different metal

The tokens 4, 5, and 6 are unimetallic.

The numbers 1, 2, and 3 remind me of certain German pieces.  Also issued with a polymer ‘separator’.
I assume that the polymer is tough enough to keep the three parts together.

The price of this new Canadian set is $ 69.95.

BIOT The While Lion of Mortimer $2 2021
The White Lion of Mortimer’s relation to The Queen comes from Edward IV through Anne de Mortimer.
The Lion’s history extends over 500 years and unlike the Lion of England, this beast is uncrowned.
The design on the coin shows the face of the White Lion of Mortimer alongside the ‘white rose en soleil’,
a combination of two badges showing a white rose encircled by a golden sun.
Both symbols were used as part of the Great Seals of King Edward IV and King Richard III as well as the
Duke of York who later became King George VI.

23rd July 2021. Jacek Stacel - Poland

The Golden Parade of the Pharaohs was an event held in Cairo, Egypt on April 3, 2021, during which
twenty-two mummies belonging to the kings and queens of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt were
transferred from the Egyptian Museum to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat."

Canada will issue a $2 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of insulin

13th July 2021.  Frans Woons - Canada.

The new ‘Insulin’ toonies have arrived!  One coloured; the other one not.

Interesting is that the name of Dr. Banting is not mentioned.  Not on the coins and not in the description.

Probably because he was not the sole discoverer but a co-discoverer of insulin.

"See you" next time.
