Hi, Folks. (Dated September 14, 1996) Introduction. Some weeks ago I put a convoke in the Rec.Collecting Coins if there were any interest in starting a Bi-metallic Collectors Club. In the past weeks I've got seven reaction. The following people did responce: (in alphabatical order) Bill Allain Larry Dodds Louis Crawford Larry Friemel Joseph Kocian Brett McInnes Kyle Mutcher Ron Shalgi Mike Trebs My name is Martin Peeters and live in The Netherlands, Europe. My friend Bi-metallic collector is Frans Dubois also from The Netherlands (without an Internet connection) With some of the mentioned poeple Bi-metallic collectors I have had intensive contact. Goal of the Worldwide Bi-metallic Collectors Club (WBCC). l. Trade Bi-metallics its self. 2. Chance information about Bi-metallics. 3. Make and distribute a Bi-mounthly catalog with all Bi-metallics all over the World. Personal I'm very far in cataloging, and some of you people have seen it. For those people who want the next ėssue (1 october 1996) of this catalog I suggest to give me your adress. (Not nessecary for them who already send it to me) The costs for postage to send it is about 2 US Dollars. 4. Make a Home-page special for Bi-metallics. Personal i'm intend do to this and I'm already busy with it. Discussion I think it is nessecary to start first the discussion 'What are Bi-metallics' Must they be 'Ringed'? Are Cameo (inlay) also Bi-metallics? Is 'Gilt' a Bi-metallic? May I give a exsample of important information about Bi-metallics: Argentėa has made 4 different 1 Peso's: 1 Peso 1994, Mintmark A 1 Peso 1995, Mintmark A with Die 1994 1 Peso 1995, Mintmark B and error spelling 'Provincias' in 'ProvinGias' 1 Peso 1995, Mintmark C Note: Mintmark A is issued in Korea Mintmark B is issues in England Mintmark C is issued in France The Mintmarks are located on the reversed side in the point between the words 'ARGENTINIA' and 'PATRI' and 'PRIMERA' and REPUBLICA' It's only to see with a magnifying glass. At last I think this is a good starting point for the: Worldwide Bi-metallic Collectors Club (WBCC) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Do you also think so? Martin Peeters, The Netherlands
